 Veloflex Record 28 Tubular Tyre
Veloflex Record 28 Tubular Tyre
No Compromise! That's the keyword at the base of Record 28". A tubular created to beat all the records thanks to its feather-light weight, outstanding grip and cornering stability.

" I have been road racing with this 180gr tire on the front for the past two years with pretty good luck considering it is a track/TT tire. I had one side wall flat on a ruff crit course and another on a fresh tar and chip course. This tire help balance out the extra weight added by the new heavier Fire Crest shaped wheels. For the ultimate climbing road race wheel mount one of these and save yourself 45g off the tip of your tire. I can get at least ten to fifteen races out of each tire. "
Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive, Wears Out Easily

" I have been using this tire for Winter training in the cold and rain for the last two year. Its a little heavy but bomb proof in the 35-40 degree rides in the rain when you don't want to fix a fat. It holds up well to the cinders on the roads as well. This tire is as durable as the Specialized Armadillo with better handling and no casing problems when they start to wear. "
Pros: Durable, Rugged, High Quality, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive

How many km would you reasonably expect to get out of these tyres before they need replacing.

A lot. My guess is 4K. They have alot of meat down the center at 340g or so and folding. The standard Durano without the shield is 225grams.

Are these Durano Plus folding or rigid please?

Folding means folding. Yes. The tire is pretty heavy for a folding tire but there is a lot of meat down the center and the puncture resistant belt adds weight. They would be in the 400g range other wise.

Will these tyres fit my bike

I have Mavic Cosmic Elite 700 x 23 on my road bike and I'm looking for a good quality puncture resistant winter tyre - will these fit my wheels?
They fit just like a regular 700x23 tires and they are not too high for fenders like some of the Conti's tires that can run real high.

What is the difference between the Schwalbe Durano Plus and Durano Plus Performance Tyres?

The puncher resistant belt in blue in the picture which adds weight. ~330g vs 225g. If you are a weight conscious, you could ride a Durano in the front and a Durano Plus in the rear. Or switch to Durano's early spring. Durano's are pretty tough. You will get glass in them and it might eventually wear through. With the plus it will probably not make it through. I think the rubber compound is about the same. So good handling winter tires.

Winter Riding

Is this tyres suitable for winter riding, if not any suggestions, I'm after a tyre with great puncture protection like these or marathon plus that are good for winter cycling.
These are great winter riding tires and offer the same traction and comfort as your summer tires. I can get through a whole winter on the front.
