" These are a great pair of winter tights. There are tights for colder weather in the range, but unless you are cycling down alpine mountains in cold weather I can't see that you would need another pair of winter tights for UK riding conditions.
I am 6ft, 80kg, 32 inch waist and the large fits me perfectly.
The fit is snug and the with the Progetto chamois, about as comfortable as bib tights get.
As with all Castelli products the zips have the nice touch of being lockable and unlockable. (Flip the zip down and the zips can be pulled open, flip them up and they lock where they are). "

" the inside of the cap is a brushed felt fabric. If you are familiar with the thermoflex fabric or Nanoflex you will know what I mean.
The cap is a 'skull cap' and fits the head snugly and covers the ears. It could be used in conjunction with a ski/snowboard helmet.
Like other cycling skull caps, the fabric is quite thin. But does provide pretty good heat insulation. To put it in perspective, you are meant to be exercising when using this so it's not a heavy duty item (compared to a ski hat - which is meant to insulate you while you slowly get cold on a lift chair).
The bottom of the cap could reach lower round the ears, but I can't say that I find mine cold. "

" I'm a Castelli fan so when it comes to comparison I have a bit of kit to talk about already.
This has all the usual hallmarks of Castelli, good design and great technical materials. I especially like the grippers on the arm. A little less abrasive than the usual silicon ones.
I was actually surprised that the material was as heavy as it was given that they say this is a summer jersey, but comparative to the Fidele it is lighter, but I have a team race jersey from a few seasons ago that is lighter. That said i think with the right layering you can wear this in almost any weather. I just think that in the hottest there are more aerated jerseys.
Like most jerseys, layering up and adding arm warmers is going to increase the temperature range in which you can use this jersey.
I must add that I think the fit is exceptional and it makes me feel like a pro. As always, go a size up with Castelli. I think they aim to meet the grade with the ultra fit climbers by flattering the punier rider. "

" I tried this out at a Sportive, and found the ability to map a route very useful. I tend to try new and interesting routes and had previously used my Iphone - this is costly on the battery and also on the data usage, so the Garmin Edge 800's ability to follow a pre-mapped route is very useful. The data is also excellent, even giving details of how long approaching hills are (which is very useful on a first time course).
However, my major gripe with this is that it has been having major issues docking with my Mac. I tried Garmin's FAQs and nothing. I found something tentative on another website dating back a whole year and a half, so why they did not have this easily accessible on the FAQs I don't know. Anyway I have been massively disappointed by the after sales support of Garmin.
Wiggle have been excellent help. And the delivery of the goods was speedy. "
Pros: great mapping ability, great stats
Cons: poor aftersales from garmin, problems with mac compatability

" I've had these overshoes for just over half a year. I knew coming into the winter months that I would need to have some solution to the cold for my toes.
I have worn them less than half a dozen times. The last time I went out it rained and rained hard. My feet were warm for most of the ride and then it started. My sock got wetter and wetter. At first I thought this was just the effect of so much rain (my waterproof jacket was proving that it was more water resistant in unstinting heavy rain too to be fair). But when I got home went to remove the overshoes the right one had "split" open.
Looking at other reviews this appears to be the major flaw in what is probably the most stylish overshoe to be had at this price. Whereas as most overshoes appear to turn cycle shoes into the aero equivalent of Binky the Clown shoes, these had a more understated look which could persuade you to wear them to your girlfriend's sisters wedding.
It's very disappointing as these otherwise keep your feet very warm. I wonder if they could develop a little more give in the otherwise impressively strong zip at the back. I cannot recommend these for that reason. "

" I confess that I am a Castelli fan. The company produce stylish performance wear which is technically advanced too. The Aero bib shorts are another part of this Italian companies strong tradition.
The fabric itself is very figure hugging (as the Aero names suggests) and the grippers are effective and perhaps not quite as pulling as the traditional silicon gel grippers, which is more of a nice touch that any technical necessity. But that sums up the Castelli style, extra flourishes which make you smile. Like there is a radio pocket in the team bib (I bought that one as I thought it was most stylish - I don't know about the others).
The seat pad is also very comfortable, but if you are going to ride for four hours plus then only heaven will provide your bottom with comfort after that so don't expect this to be THE answer to the eternal question of a bib short which keeps your backside from going numb.
This is not the cheapest option, but I'm going on a 9 day 100 mile-a-day tour and so I thought that I would get a GOOD second pair of bib shorts. I'm not disappointed at all. There is nothing I regret about this purchase. "
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Lightweight, Good Fit, good technical aspects

" I bought this because I am doing the Ride Across Britain and need to get some solid winter training under my belt. I went for this model because the value at this price was awesome and it had a computer.
The unit itself is fairly easy to assemble (but the instructions are not particularly clear). The noise from the unit is not particularly loud. I tested it out with my flat mates and they said the noise it produced was not too bothersome. If I crank it up to 400 watts then I'm not sure they would be happy, but at around 200 watts it is very acceptable.
The computer was a main feature of the purchase as it allows good metrics from the training. It's perhaps not as sophisticated as more expensive models but it gives cadence, power, speed, distance and time which are exactly what you require to improve your cycling.
A more expensive model will give you access to a more interactive computer system, but I don't think this can be beat at this price.
I would recommend the cycle thong, turbo trainer tyre and perhaps the mat to ensure that you protect you bike, tyre and housemates. "
Pros: Great Value, computer, quiet, easy assembly

" One way of turning your summer Short sleeve into a autumn/winter/spring top is to purchase these. I have the legging which you can add to your shorts to increase the wear you get out of your chamois, but thought I would double my usage of my short-sleeve tops.
The grippers keep these firmly in place (under your short sleeves). I am perhaps a bit muscly, if I do say so myself and went for the Large - I could probably wear the XL. But that's not surprising as cyclists are not blessed with the most muscular upper body.
The Nanoflex technology is similar to that which they use in their Gabba top which is outstanding. Water just bounces off this stuff. I stuck my sleeve under that top and expect seepage, but nothing got through. This will keep you warm and dry in all but the coldest of conditions.....which is when you'd normally expect to add another layer anyway. "
Pros: Great Value, Comfortable, Versatile, Good Fit
Cons: not for muscular arms

Material stretch compared to Fluidio and Velocissimo

How does the stretch of the Core-due multi-fabric panels compare to the other Castelli fabrics?

I have tried the Velocissimo tights in L and they are fine, but the Fluidio tights ended up half way up my calves as the SG0.6 fabric doesn't stretch nearly as much as the thermoflex.
Agree with the other response. Am 6ft, 80kg, 32in waist and the large fits me perfectly.

If your going to build a trampet out of it I must warn you that the material does not stretch as much as the summer tights as the material is thicker.

Do I need to buy the separately supplied tacx quick release skewer with this if my bike already has a quick release skewer?

No. A skewer comes with the product.

You will need the skewer provided as it fits with the coupling. It's actually not a very designed coupling, but bike manufacturers seem to produce esoteric designs which will not universally fit the coupling.

Charging when docked

Does the Edge 800 (and others in the range) charge via the USB docked connection, or only via the wallwart?

A USB charging connection would be far more versatile, and would minimise what I need to carry for overnights.
It can be charged by both.

A better question is do I get go quality after care. Not in my experience. Have spent hours doing what I consider simple stuff. No map with the package. Problems with uploading/synching/downloading. It does not appear to be very compatible with Mac. These issues are manifest and Garmin do not seem inclined to issue a patch.

should be Large or Medium?

I am 178 cm (5ft10inch) and 73kg (161lb) and 38inch chest size.
Looking at sizing sheet I see my size is Med, but reading reviews for Castelli most of them are saying Castelli goes smaller side.

Should I go to Med or Large?
Please let me know.
