" Buying one of these saddles, you are not just buying one of the most long lasting, comfortable, high quality saddles. You are also buying a bit of living history and buying into over 150 years of experience in the design and manufacture of cycle saddles!
Don't be worried by some of the reviews mentioning the breaking in process, brooks saddles by their nature will conform to your shape and get better with use rather than plastic saddles where foam will compress and you'll get pressure points causing discomfort. Straight from the box these are already a well designed and shaped saddle which will only get better with use rather than wear out.
If you are not familiar with the history of brooks saddles and the artistry that goes into each of their products search for Brooks Saddles 1of 2 on you tube.
These are really superb examples of design at it's best, expertly manufactured using the best materials for the job.
Considering the quality, the labour intensive manufacturing process that goes into producing these saddles, and the many years of sterling service these saddles will give you the price is actually very good value. I can't really think of any Cons for these! "
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, Comfortable, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable, Versatile, Good Fit, british made, a design classic, proven design, the best you can buy
Cons: i can't think of any cons, the people in the brochure wear too much tweed

" I was looking for a compact, well built, bright headlight with a reasonable battery life and powered by 4 x AA Batteries. This product fitted those requirements perfectly! I didn't really want yet another battery charger and another specialist battery pack, the convenience of using readily available rechargeable AA batteries was a desirable feature.
Some reviews mention that changing the batteries is a little awkward, it just has a standard plastic 4 x AA battery holder inside the cnc machined aluminium alloy body, you unscrew the end cap (has an o ring and silicone grease to aid water resistance) the battery holder slides out and when you put it back you have to ensure it is oriented in the correct direction so that the two pins make contact, pretty easy really although in complete darkness it could prove a fiddle.
The one fault is that the bar mounting is screwed onto the base of the light fitting so you need to unclamp the quick release bar clamp each time. It also means that to swap it over to a helmet mounting that you need to unscrew a socket head bolt on the light in order to remove it from the velcro helmet strap. That's a little awkward but as the unit is made from Aluminium and the batteries are contained inside the unit that it is rather heavy and if it had a small quick release fitting it could easily become detached from the helmet.
I'd recommend this light as it is a huge improvement over the cheaper plastic, lights and you'd have to pay a lot more to get any real noticeable improvement in light output.
The other great thing is that the light is designed and manufactured in the UK too!
Regarding batteries I purchase mine from www dot component-shop dot co dot uk 2900 mAh AA NiMh for £4.75 for four and postage for a quid! "

The Swallow Titanium features lightweight titanium hardware for a significant weight reduction over the traditional Swallow Chrome, although in all other respects the Swallow models are the same.

Does this come with Proofide or a spanner wrench?

It comes with the adjusting spanner but no PROOFIDE. Buy the proofide on it's own as you can get a 40ml tin. There's also a kit available that contains a soft cloth a smaller tin of Proofide and another spanner which is a little more expensive.

This fantastic little light may just be the best addition to your night riding you can make as it a single high powered LED that pushes out 240 lumens on max power!

Size

This looks quite big. Does anybody know its diameter at the back and its lenght. I found nothing on the Hope website.

Thanks
The HOPE Vision 1 LED is 44mm in diameter and 94mm long (including the eyelet for the lanyard on the centre of the battery cover)

The item is fairly compact considering that it contains the 4 x AA batteries. Hope that helps!

Does this light flash or is it static, what is the burn time on flash if so?

The light does have a FLASH mode, in flash the unit operates in a lower power mode,

Burn times are listed as:

30 Hours LOW
8.75 Hours MEDIUM
3.75 Hours HIGH
2.75 Hours MAX

The burn times for FLASH mode aren't mentioned in the manual but I would assume similar times to the LOW power mode.

These are using rechargeable batteries NiMh 2700 Batteries,

2900 mAh NiMh will give a little longer burn time.

Disposable Lithium batteries will give burn times of:

41 Hours LOW
3.5 Hours MAX

Does this come with a QR bracket or not?

One of the reviews says no bracket - the bike mag review says it's excellent!
This unit comes with:

1) Q/R bar clamp (made from black glass reinforced nylon so super tough)

2) Hook and loop Helmet mounting

3) Short wrist lanyard when using as hand held torch

Unfortunately the light is held onto the Q/R bar clamp with a socket head screw so you have to remove the Q/R clamp from the bars too if you want to remove the light for security.

The lamp is still excellent and very secure when mounted too, won't fall off as with some clip on lamp fittings.

This light has Five different modes, (cycles from LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH, MAX AND FLASH)

When you click the power button it runs in the lowest power mode and you can step it up to the next mode by clicking the button. To switch off simply hold the button down for a second or so.
