" I bought this to replace the stock 11-32 on my wife's Marin as she was finding the gaps between the ratios a bit too large. Just switching to the 11-30 made all the difference. "

" At first I thought that the pad was a bit thin especially compared with my aging Endura shorts. After a 60 mile and 100 mile ride in them, I can say that the pad is good enough. The shorts are a nice fit. Material is a bit thinner than some other shorts. "

" Perfectly adequate end caps however the top of the packet wasn't sealed as I discovered when I tilted the packet and they fell out onto the workbench :( The pack was short by three caps. "

" Having spent far too much time trying to undo quicklinks with pliers and anything else that might work I finally decided to invest in a proper tool. No more scraped and grazed knuckles. I might only use it occassionally but it saves so much hassle...Worth every penny. "

KMC X9-L Silver 9 Speed Chain
KMC X9-L Silver 9 Speed Chain
Having already made the worlds lightest 9 speed chain (X-SL series), KMC decided to produce a new cheaper L version. This X9-L Silver chain shares a lot of the SL technology, but provides great performance on a budget.

" It's worth the extra money as this chain outlasts the cheaper ones by a considerable margin. It also seems to be smoother running. I've not changed my maintenance routine so it's a fair comparison.
I get 12 months of all weather commuting plus weekend rides, around 3500 miles , before it reaches it's wear limit. "

" It's early days but these seem a reasonable and slightly cheaper alternative to the Conti GP 4 seasons. I got them to replace the very cheap tyres on my wife's first road bike. Excellent grip, lets see if they keep the P fairy away as well as the 4 seasons tyres.
I'll update this when they've done a few more miles of autumn/winter riding.
They are a bit of a tight fit but not impossible. My onl;y criticism is that the orange lettering clashes badly with the bike's colour. "

Compatability with SORA & new wheels

My current cassette has 12-32t ratio. Bike is a 9 speed Felt Z95 SORA (2014) from Wiggle. I'm putting the new cassette on newly purchased wheels. I think my bike will have the extended deralieur already, so should this cassette with 11-30 ratio go on without a problem? Also what chain do you recommend for this cassette?
Should be fine. As to chains, I'm a big fan of the KMC X9-L chains.
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/kmc-x9-l-silver-9-speed-chain/?sku=5360258328

They last really well, run smoothly and quietly. I usually get at least 3000 miles out of mine and thats all year round riding in the UK.

Squalo Road Cycling Helmet - 2012
Squalo Road Cycling Helmet - 2012
The LAS SQUALO is a lightweight, compact, aggressively styled cycling helmet that is unmistakably European, combining an innovative design with an aggressive and modern technical line.

Does this helmet or any of the LAS helmets come with visor?

The Las Squalos that I bought recently did not have a visor although one was shown in the photo on the website. Great helmet though, very comfortable.

 Finchdean Bib Cycling Shorts
Finchdean Bib Cycling Shorts
The Finchdean range - top performance kit which looks good and feels great

Hi I've never bought bib shorts before what are they like in summer and is it better to have a waisted short rather than bibs for the summer months

I've worn both and I prefer the bib top as they are much more comfortable around the waist.
As long as they use a wicking fabric, which most good ones do, and a decent jersey with good wicking properties as well, then you should do fine. I'm based in the UK so our summers aren't as hot as some places.

Ask yourself what do the pro riders wear :)

 Elite Crono Hydro-Mag ElastoGel Trainer
Elite Crono Hydro-Mag ElastoGel Trainer
The Elite Crono-Hydro-Mag Elastogel trainer is a great choice for indoor training, or for warm-ups before your important event. Using a mix of Fluid and Magnetic technology, the trainer gives smooth progressive resistance and is very quiet also.

Differences btwn this & the cronofluid elastogel trainer-any disadvantages of this one?

I went for the hydromag as you get the road-like feel of the fluid and the ability to alter the resistance via the magnetic resistance. It really seems like the best of both worlds at a reasonable price
