" I've worn this a few times on my rides into work and home again over the winter and I have not felt the cold on my head at all. The balaclava is lightweight, stretchy and comfortable to wear. It is easy enough whilst wearing to pull it down from the nose and tuck it under your chin if your face is getting too warm. I'd definitely reccomend it if you are doing a lot of winter riding. "

" Works better than any other chain cleaner I have used previously. The handle makes it very handy to use with little chance of fingers getting caught in the chain. Would definitely reccomend it. "

" I'm not a big fan of turbo training sessions, if I can go outside then I will but this winter weather has been rubbish and I've been limited with time in the evenings. I have been turbo training with music or with old cycling videos to motivate me but I saw these dvds on Wiggle and I thought I would try one.
The dvd includes 2 warm up and 2 cool down videos and a 40 minute criterium race video, you can choose how to run it depending on your wishes, ie warm up, race, cool down or race and cool down and a few other variables of your choice.
The warm up, race and cool down lasts about 1 hour but you can extend it via the menu options.
The race is mostly filmed in a first person perspective with commentary all the way through so you actually feel like you are racing and chasing to hang onto the wheel in front, with a guide to how hard you should be working along the bottom and how long each interval will last as well as a clock to tell you race time left.
The race is just under 18 miles long and on my turbo at resistance setting 2 I am knocking my pan in and at the end I have done about one mile less than the pros so my objective is to complete the same race distance by the time I reach the end of the workout before upping the resistance level, in 3 workouts I have actually achieved a small gain in performance from the previous so in a couple of months the difference should be really noticable.
It is a shame I did not buy this at the end of last year I may have been much fitter than I am now.
I thoroughly reccomend this dvd to make your turbo sessions worthwhile and a lot less boring than sticking on your cd player and riding aimlessly for 30 minutes or so like I did before.

" I bought these shoes about a year ago when the soles of my old shoes started falling apart.
I already have a pair of DHB Carbon road shoes and I'm happy with them so had no doubts that these should be of a lesser quality.
I know it is possible to spend hundreds on brand name shoes or other kit but I am in the camp of not too cheap but mid range good quality no gimmicks kit and these fit the bill perfectly.

" I have been using Vittoria tyres for over 10 years, mostly Rubinos as they are a good price, a good selection of colours and mainly because I have had about half a dozen punctures in the last 10 years despite doing about 6000 kms a year.
They to me are bulletproof, maybe a bit heavier that other tyres but I would rather have reliability over performance.
They can be a bit tight to get on when new but they tend to stay on until I replace them a couple of years later so I canot gripe too much.

" I bought this helmet in early 2013 and used it for the first time this weekend.
Overall I'm impressed with the helmet, the fit is nice and comfortable, easily adjustable via the dial on the top.
One very small criticism is that a bit more time with the quality control could be done, the coloured shell is made in more than one piece and some of the joins are not very tidy looking, other than that though I'm happy with it.

" I bought this at the tail end of 2011 I think and have used it many times when out on my bike in the dark.
Fitting the the frame is very quick and easy and the straps allow for fitting to many different tube diameters.
I personally attach it to the seatstays of my bike.
Performancewise the light is very bright, I always have it on full instead of flashing mode and I am still on the original batteries which is about 30-40 hours run time by my reckoning and they are not yet dead.
One criticism I would give is that the on off button is a bit small and not easy to see in low light or find when wearing gloves, on mine I have painted a white ring around it to make it easier to see.
Other than that it is a great piece of kit and would not hesitate in buying another should mine ever die or get damaged. "

Cons: on off button a bit difficult to find in the dark

" I bought a few of these links, 2x 9 speed and a 10 speed one, one for my race bike and the others for my winter bike and the girlfriends too.
I have used one on her bike when the chain broke recently and it works perfectly.
Very simple to install and get you going again but you have to remove a link if you are planning to join a broken chain. "

" I bought this after the fiancees bike chain broke recently when we were on a ride and I couldnt repair it. Luckily we were close to home when it happened.
Anyway I seen this tool in a magazine and with the built in chain tool seemed like the perfect thing to carry so I bought a couple and have used the tool to make a few adjustments a couple of times so far including a puncture yesterday when i had to use the bulit in tyre levers.
I cannot think of anything else I would need to carry when I have this with me, it's lightweight but strong enough to get the job done.

" This is my second set of cleat covers, also have a set for delta cleats and I would heartily reccomend them. I always keep mine in my saddle bag so if I'm at a sportive, race or just walking to the house from the garage I always put them on to protect my cleats.
There is nothing fancy or bling about them but they do exactly as described.

swap 9 speed cassette for a 10 speed

I bought a pair of Khamsin wheels a couple of years ago with a 9 speed cassette and this year I bought a new bike fitted with Khamsins and a 10 speed cassette. I bought a new cassette with a larger gear spread to use for mountain training but when I tried to fit it to my old Khamsins it was too wide. Can anyone explain how I fit the 10 speed to my old wheels as I believe it is possible?
The reason is I want to be able to quickly change wheels so I have the correct spread of gears for the ride I will be doing. as well as having a replacement wheel when racing.
Thanks

I believe it is the correct measurement. Yes it will fit as my head is the same size. It is a bit on the small size but because it is lycra it stretches to comfortably fit small or larger heads.

On the evening of the day I asked this question I tried again to fit the 10 spd cassette to my old wheels and to my surprise it fitted, I'm not sure but I think the lock nut may have a slightly longer thread on it than the 9 speed and maybe last time I got them mixed up. Anyway it works and I have been out on the bike with no problems
