" I bought this so I could get out on my mountain bike midweek after work in winter, and so far have obnly managed one ride, but this light strapped nice and securely to my helmet with the supplied fittings was MORE than good enough! I was more than happy with the light provided by the 2nd setting in pitch black woods.
The light comes in a useful box with slots for all the components so you don't lose that bracket-you-don't-normally-use-but-is-incredibly-useful-once-or-twice-a-year... Oh, and the light itself is smaller than I expected from the pictures, which is a bonus.
Overall I strongly recommend it, at least at the bargain sale price I paid, I've no idea how similarly priced units perform... "
Pros: Durable, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight

" It's nothing to complain about, but not to write hoem about either. It measures stuff.
It's a little counter intuitive - it 'locks' when you pull it out, and retracts when you press the button. The lockign mechanism it's the best - it seems to slowly retract by itself. The measurements are on what I would call the underside as well.
That said, I got it super cheap and it does what I want it to with no problems - perfectly useable. "
Pros: Great Value, does the job
Cons: Not Enough Features, not great quality

Quality bargain
Posted19 July 2011
" Really love this! So much better than a lump of wood and a hammer - and an absolute bargain price! I can't believe people get away with charging over £50 for these. Get one today, you wont be disappointed (unless you're a strong man or something - but you shouldn't need to do it up that tight any way - there's something wrong with the frame/headset if so!) "
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Comfortable

As Ronseal...

" Though there's no tin, obviously... Feels nice and solid, good purchase on the BB cups. The crank bolt end works a treat too - you'd have to really try to over tighten it, which you don't want to do...
Only downside is the price, but you get what you pay for here. "

Can it be used to install "Truvativ GXP Bottom Bracket Cup Set"?

Yes, as I nearly had to ask this question, but I had already ordered the cranks... I had no problem installing the BB with the hollowtech tool.

Should the blue LED on the power switch remain on when the battery is disconnected?

This may well be a silly question, but should the blue LED on the power switch remain on when the battery is connected but the light switched off? It does make it useful to find the light switch when its dark, but I wonder how quickly it will drain the battery? For example, should I be disconnecting the battery from the light each evening to prevent necessary charging? I am guessing that the current draw of the blue LED is so low it's insignificant, but it would be good to have this confirmed.

The light should be on, as you are right, the draw from a tiny LED like that is absoloutely insignificant. It is certainly MORE useful that you can see the switch in the dark!

HI, Should the battery be drained totally before charging it for the first time ?

I wonder if it is better to drain the battery fully before charging it for the first time or if it is better to charge it straight out of the box.
From what I've read from other similar products it's better to give it a charge straight out of the box, even if it says full give it an hour or so - there's clever electronics to stop it over charging - just to make sure it is fully charged. But realistically it doesn;t matter too much, modern hitech batteries like these have loads of failsafes built in to stop you ruining them! Just try and generalyl speaking get them down to half charge at least before re-charging them and you should be fine. (Battery life is dependant on the number of charge cycles it goes through, irregardless of how much charge the charge cyckle puts in - so if you use it for 5 minutes and re-charge it, it is 'one charge' down, just like if you flattened the battery and recharged it...)

 BBB BTL-73 TorqueSet Torque Wrench
BBB BTL-73 TorqueSet Torque Wrench
Adjustable torque tool with 1/4" drive and features a click-mechanism to indicate when torque setting is reached.

Is this ok for general work on my MTB for brakes cranks etc ?

I would say not - it only goes up to 14Nm, and cranks (for example) want more like 50Nm! That said, I have never used a torque wrench for my push bike in the last 11 years (of complete strip downs - to BB bearings when possible!) - and have only once over tightened something, and never had anything serious come loose. A bit of 'feel' is all you really need.
