" I had high expectations for these socks as they are billed as ideal for really cold winter conditions.
They are very well made, ooze quality, and are a nice length. Size I is a good fit for my size 42 feet.
I havent found them quite as warm as I expected, down to 5 degs they have been fine with overshoes. But below that I have been getting cold toes I'm afraid, which I'd hoped to avoid with these socks. "
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality
Cons: Expensive, cold toes below 5 degs c

" I've been riding in the tights for a week now. My first ride out was in 5DegsC with an icy cold 60kph wind buffeting me. Wearing a winter base layer together with the latest DHB Aeron jecket I felt warm and well protected from the elements. Not once did I feel cold around my legs, and I had a number of long fast descents on my 3 hour ride.
Since then it has got colder but less windy and I continue to be delighted with these tights. They fit well, ooze quality, and look great. At their price point they represent outstanding value. I'm 172 cm and 66kg and the Small fits a treat.
Excellent product, well done dhb! "

" I've got a number of Assos products and am a real fan of the brand. I believe in their ethos and high quality standards.
As a result, I'm really disappointed to have to write a negative review about this base layer. It just doesnt work - for me. The fit is good ( I normally take a size S Assos and this Size 1 fits well), it looks tremendous and gives a nice light compression feel. All good.
However, wearing it under an Assos Intermediate Jersey I quickly became conscious of the fabric getting wet from sweat on my back and the front of my chest. This was in 14 degrees C, light winds, typical French Autumnal conditions. That damp feeling never left me all the ride. It was horrible, like having an ice cold finger on your chest on the downhills. I wore it two more rides and I have given up - an expensive mistake.
Not only that, but it absolutely stank in the way that the old style Helly Hansen base layers used to pong.
Come on Assos, you can do better than this. "
Pros: Attractive
Cons: Expensive, smelly, dampness, wet all ride

" I'm currently using these socks in the 30-35 degrees temperature range and they are superbly comfortable.
Assos have nailed the material and construction, and my feet stay cool in my Sidis despite the high temperatures. Of course, they are very very light and in order to extend their lifetime I definitely won't be walking around in them without footwear on. "

" For a lightweight sock these are surprisingly warm, even they get wet. The only downside is that they havent regained their original softness after washing. I put them in the washing machine on a delicates cycle but even so, they area little stiff after drying. Very comfortable though - they were great during an 8 hour mountain marathon the other day, despite the cold, wet boggy conditions I was running through. "

" What a great product. My carbon and titanium frames polish up a treat with Silicone Shine. Water beads nicely on the frame when its wet, and I've had lots of admiring questions about what I'm using on the frame from other riders.
Only one niggle. The can is massive! I've used a tiny fraction of the can over the last 12 months, I could have got away with one a quarter of the size, but it doesnt exist! "

Great fit, lovely shorts, but some quality issues

" These are lovely shorts, they fit very well and are extremely supportive. In coldish weather (7-12 degrees C) they have performed well with knee or leg warmers. They look great and are very flattering if matched with a Castelli jersey.
I have a couple of issues with them. The first is that I do find myself sliding around on my saddle much more than with other brands (and I'm comparing the shorts with a those frmo a variety of other manufacturers, from dhb to Assos).
The stitching, in places, is a bit suspect (loose ends, ugly tie offs that kind of thing). I'm prepared to put up with it as I paid a very low price for the shorts after the Wiggle discount. If I'd paid nearer the recommended full price though they would have gone back.
Castelli's kit comes is manufactured in a variety of locations and I'm afraid I've seen this issue before, with variable quality depending on the country of manufacture.
Great shorts though, really like the pad and the way they fit. I chose Medium, I'm 172cm and 65kg. "

Size – 5’7” 70kg 98 chest

What size is correct for 5’7” 70kg and 98 chest? I wear Assos in Small. Is this bib short a relaxed, comfort or competitive fit?

dhb Team Wiggle Honda Bib Short
As the official team kit supplier of the Wiggle Honda Pro Cycling Team, dhb are proud to present the 2014 Wiggle Honda Padded Bib Short.

Same as Aeron Pro Bib Shorts?

Are these essentially another colour option of the dhb Aeron Pro shorts, or are the materials different, with extra team magic built in? Some of the panels look like a different fabric - is that the case, or is the contrast just black and grey colour sections?

I've got the Aeron Pro and Wiggle Honda shorts and they are different material. The WH top and shorts are superb - the material is super lightweight, moves moisture out quickly, and the fit is a racing fit, which I like. I've had lots of positive comments from other riders on appearance as well - definitely recommended!

The Ultegra 6700 cassette comes with an alloy carrier and advanced Hyperglide sprocket profiles for even smoother, lighter and faster shifting.

Will a Shimano Ultegra 6600 short cage rear mech be able to cope with the 28 large sprocket on the 11-28 6700 cassettel

Top 1000 Contributor
Top 1000 Contributor
Hi
In a word, no. I have a Dura Ace 7800 short cage rear mech and fitted an Ultegra 11-28 6700 cassette (replacing a 12-25). Although the chain shifts smoothly onto the cassette, there is the occasional shudder and click in the rear derailleur, which sounds awful and isnt comfortable. Better to stick with the max 27t cassette recommended in the Shimano tech docs!
